WebSockets Support?

#1

Does MyQttHub support WebSockets (ws) or WebSockets Secure (wss)?

Thanks!

Hello Steve.

No, it doesn’t have support for WebSockets yet. We are working on it but it is still not ready.

In the meantime you can also use HTTP API REST to implement all
administrative and common operations:

Here you have some examples on how to use it with python:

Best Regards.

Thanks for the confirmation.

Do you have an estimated timeline to support WebSockets?

Hello @Steve_K

We hope to have it in the next months. We are now focusing on geolocation and integrated graphing functions.

We will keep you updated.
Best Regards.

#5

Hi there,

any update on implementing WebSocket?

#6

I am on the standard plan and really need WSS on port 443 so that I can connect to the MQTT broker from within my corporate firewall. That is the port that is open in more US corporate environments. It’s going on 3 years and thinking that you should have this capability enabled for real world use. Most of your competitors have this like Amazon and Azure IOT. When will you be able to support this?

#7

Hello,
Just confirm we are integrating WebSocket support and should be committed to production up on pubilc platform very soon. We will let you know once it is fully tested and ready for production.
Best Regards,

#9

Hi,

Was it released to production? Or not yet?

Best,

Gracias Carlos,

Hello Carlos,

Certainly we are lagging behind with WebSocket upgrade for the platform. In exchange, we are focusing on several platform updates to prepare it for the next release which will allow us growing it (along with several infrastructure upgrades that have helped us reaching +11K active MQTT HUBs).

At this point, all efforts are concentrated on this, and of course, it will make it possible for us to complete this support for WebSocket which is tagged by us as important requirement, but also to complete support for MQTT v5.

And no, we haven’t abandoned the project

Thanks Carlos,
